JOB PURPOSE

This position encompasses all aspects of managing technical sales with the customer and aligning proposed solutions with the client’s technical capabilities to help drive revenue. The Sales Engineer is responsible for introducing cloud technologies to our customers, helping prospective customers to understand the power of cloud technologies, explaining technical features and problem-solving any potential roadblocks. The ideal candidate – in collaboration with the team – will enhance customer experience, increase capacity to innovate, and speed up time to value by providing the tools and culture to facilitate efficient release, predictability, and success.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Cloud Sales Engineer to join our team and support the Global Sales efforts. As a Cloud Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our cloud computing solutions by providing technical expertise and support to our sales efforts. You will collaborate closely with the sales team and engage with customers to understand their needs, propose appropriate cloud solutions, and demonstrate the value and capabilities of our products. Your deep understanding of cloud technologies and excellent communication skills will be instrumental in building strong customer relationships and driving revenue growth. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and develop effective cloud computing solutions.
  • Present and demonstrate our cloud products and services to prospective customers, showcasing their value and benefits.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the sales team throughout the sales cycle.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, proof of concepts (POCs), and technical presentations to highlight the capabilities and features of our cloud solutions.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering compelling proposals, technical documentation, and customer-specific presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development and engineering, to ensure alignment between customer requirements and product capabilities.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, becoming a trusted advisor and resource for their cloud computing needs.

PERSON QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar role in the cloud computing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures, virtualisation, and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) concepts.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.

  • Extensive experience as a business growth & innovation manager, preferably in a related industry.
  • Proven ability to understand and provide creative solutions to business challenges.
  • Implemented end-to-end content strategies.
  • Demonstrated execution of successful link-building campaigns.
  • Worked on large sites.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • An analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • A growth mindset, always looking to improve the outcomes of users of our platform.
  • Excellent leadership, team building, facilitation, relationship building, and consultation skills.
  • Proven ability to drive people's agenda with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and delegate them when appropriate & act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
